Our Reception 09/27/2008
Last night Josh and I had our potluck-wedding reception/benefit. Josh's Mom Teresa and Step dad Ian arranged it in the hall at Murray River. Josh and I made a bristol board with information about Cambodia and the awful truths about child prostitution, so that family and friends could see where we are going and why. Add Comment When the Homeless Tell Lies 09/24/2008
"They are con artists" "They know what to say to get your money from you" "They'll use that money to buy more booze" Such things are said about homeless people. Unfortunately, many people who we meet begging for money prove these statements to be true. That is, if we even bother to meet them. If we remember that there lies a human being and give some of our time to the poor, we might discover that they are lying. You, Me, and Anne Makes Three! 09/22/2008
After our ten-day Vegas honeymoon, Josh and I spent a couple of days in Windsor with my dad. After spending some good time with him, it wasn't long before we found ourselves hugging him goodbye, and heading to Prince Edward Island. The island is where Josh grew up and where is family is. Josh's mom Teresa is throwing us a reception/benefit at the hall in Murray River, which we are looking forward to. We'll be staying in the 'Land of Anne' until we head to Cambodia which will hopefully be in a few weeks. Until then, this is very valuable time of research and study of the country and culture. I am also enjoying the beginning of my and Josh's marriage, as today we are married for 2 weeks. People say that the first year of marriage is most difficult, so we might as well throw ourselves into a foreign country as well! | About MeView past posts at: missionaryjenny.blogspot ArchivesJanuary 2012 |
