New Hope School. Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

After a total of 65 hrs travel time, we made it into our destination with a terrible landing!! I have been on literally over a hundred separate flights, and this may have the worst landing ever. The plane actually bounced, and bounced high enough to make our insides feel like we were on a roller-coaster! Then the pilot tried to regain control of the giant beast and we swayed left to right hard enough that we felt like we were at the Great Escape! Welcome to Cambodia!
We passed through immigration, and bought our visa, which is good for a month, and then landed at the Cambodian Mission Outreach center where many of the children from New Hope School were eagerly waiting for us. It was so awesome to see them again. Darlin, Gani, Dop Dop, Mey Mey, Junky, Ben 10, Dto Laa, and so many more have been missed by us greatly. We hope to have some influence in their lives on this trip as well.
After getting our bags in our room, we cruised downtown with Chhorn to Sorya shopping center and picked up some groceries, and we also splurged and got an electric kettle, and a blender! After that we were tired, so we slept.
Our roles for this trip have not been defined yet, so we are meeting with Keat today or tomorrow and chatting about the whole of ministry here and what has changed, and what we'll be doing here. Jenny & I are here to serve Keat and Sally, so we'll be doing whatever they need us to do.
It feels good to be back. Even though the city is filthy, and poverty is rampant, and the bad seems to outnumber the good everywhere your eyes turn, we look not at what we want to do here, but what God wants us to do. And we pray we are obedient to do exactly that.

At 6:00am EST on Tuesday morning, Jenny & I got into a car with Pastor Bill and Shannon and headed for Halifax. We flew to NYC, and then had an eight hour wait until we boarded an 8 hour flight to Anchorage, Alaska, followed by a 9.5 hour flight to Taipei, Taiwan. We arrived in Taipei at 7am EST this morning, capping off a 49hr trip. We still have one leg to go though. Another 4hr ( I think) flight into Phnom Penh tomorrow morning. Until then, China Airlines have put us up in the City Suites hotel located by the Taipei Airport. The also included 2 buffets each. Pretty sweet.
We are both quite tired, and are really looking forward to getting into Cambodia, resting for a couple days, and then getting back to work.
It is time.

in Milltown Cross, PEI
Almost one year ago, Jenny & I were in almost the exact same situation. Our time on PEI was winding down, and the thoughts of Cambodia were ever-present. Much has changed in one year though. Since Cambodia, I have ventured to PEI, Ottawa, Niagara Falls, NY, Virginia, NM, Windsor, Vegas, back to Ontario, and to PEI. Where the resources came from to do all this, I really don't know. The mathematics of my life rarely seem to make any sense at all. I pray I am obedient to God's leading, and trust He will provide. I wouldn't say to someone, "Go to the store and get me some food", without giving them the necessary resources to obtain it. I wouldn't expect them to pay for what I have sent them to get. I believe God in the same way. If I believe He's telling me to "Go", I believe He'll provide what is needed for the journey. And He has. Mathematics need not make sense in the Kingdom. If God suddenly says that 2+3=6, it would be true. It doesn't make any sense, but that doesn't make it any less true. God is making the rules, and it is foolish to question His plan, even when His plan appears foolish.
We have been visiting lots of people on this Island trip. 3 weeks here is quite a stretch, but it has been good. My family has been very generous in seeing that we always have transportation, and lodging, and food, etc. I was back on drums this week at Faithworks Center, which was the first time I had been on the drums in a year and a half! The last time was way back at Hamilton Celebration Church, in the spring of last year. It was great fun. I get to play again Sunday evening.
But there is much to pray about. Cambodia's door is not just open for us, it has been ripped off it's hinges! Our future there, should we accept it, seems limitless. Russia also has opened it's doors to us (it's Protestantism, not the actual country), and we wait for the right timing to enter southwestern Siberia for a time. Opportunities grow as we dedicate our lives to Jesus more completely.
One more week in PEI. Today we had an opportunity to speak to the Grade 1 class at Southern Kings Consolidated School. I spent 8 yrs of my life at this school, and had a great time telling the kids about Cambodia. We also have a highly anticipated Yard Sale this Saturday which we'd like to raise lots of money for our trip from. Things are good. So good that it would be wise to reflect on the poor of this world even more. We should constantly guard ourselves against the bubble we retreat into when our security reaches unhealthy levels in regard to our relationship with God. Security can be one of the most damaging things to our spirituality.
